Roberto Turégano Moratalla
Born in Cuenca in 1947, he has worked as a graphic designer in Madrid for over forty years and has actively contributed to the development of design as we know it today.
He specialises in cultural and institutional graphics and was manager of Área Gráfica studio until 2012. He has also helped develop the graphic identity of the Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Madrid, (Madrid´s Official School of Architects) the Circulo de Bellas Artes, the Residencia de Estudiantes, the Centro Dramático Nacional and for several publishers,Institutions and private and public companies.
He has been president of the AEPD and, since 2017, chairman and sponsor of Fundación DIMAD.
Carlos Baztán Lacasa
Carlos Baztán Lacasa. Madrid. 1948
Architect at ETSAM since 1974
General Manager of the Spanish Architecture Biennials in 2013 and 2014.
Between 1981 and 2012 he worked non-stop in management positions for the three main Spanish Government Agencies, such as public cultural management, Institution management, development and renovation and cultural programs.
He has managed over a hundred projects with and for Cultural Public Institutions such as the museums of Roman Art in Mérida, Altamira, Zamora, Fine Arts of A Coruña; Madrid´s Library and Regional Archive; the Valle Inclán Theatre; Medialab Prado; and Matadero Madrid; for which he has received several national and International awards.
He also coordinated, from his position in Madrid´s City Hall, the creation of Central de Diseño, the public library service Bibliometro, and the Dutch and Finnish Design Months, as well as several White Night editions in Madrid.
He has given courses, lectures, round tables, and coordinated and curated urban planning, architecture, and design exhibitions in forty-two cities of twenty-eight different countries.
Ignacio Valero Ubierna
Architect by training, he has worked as a Lighting Designer for over fifteen years, and collaborated with several renowned Spanish architects. He has designed the lighting for a wide range of venues (from major projects to unique lighting designs). He also specializes in projecting and calculating natural light, a field in which he has developed significant research. His teaching career is also quite extensive: he was a teacher and headmaster of the Escuela de Arte 4_Interior Design, teacher at ETSAM School of Architecture ;,and co-founder and project manager of Masterdia, a Master program in Lighting Design for the UPM pioneer in this field in Spain. Regular collaborator in design and lighting issues in Spain and other countries such as Mexico, Colombia, Taiwan, Czech Republic, Germany or the U.S. he is a founding member of the Professional Lighting Designers Association APDI (Asociación Profesional de Diseñadores de Iluminación).
Ángel Luis Álvarez Díaz
Space and Product Designer.
He studied at Escuela Arte4_Interior Design in Madrid as well as having a Law degree.
He founded estudio Lanea in 2000 and has carried out design projects in all fields of the sector: commercial premises, restaurants, hotels, schools and, of course, homes, being this last field the one where he feels most comfortable due to the close contact with the customer.
He has developed a closer relationship with DIMAD since 2010 and is currently the Chairman of READ (Spanish Design Associations Network), of which DIMAD is part.
Rocío Bardín Mille
Rocío Bardín´s professional trajectory was closely linked to Telefónica for over ten years, being elected Director of the Fundación Telefónica Madrid for the last few years.
As an international coordination manager for several cultural projects, she helped found the photography collection of the Foundation.
In 2006, she left Telefónica to establish ABV Arte consultant agency, specialized in the creation, development and curation of contemporary art collections, and OA Madrid Gallery, specialized in retail and production of artistic creations that aim to explore the limits of art and design.
She has been in charge of two JustMad design sample editions, establishing communication between professionals in the sector.
She has also collaborated with the Company ArtFairs, in the development and management of JustMadMia in Miami.
María Sonia Díaz Jiménez
Professor at the Escuela Superior de Diseño de Madrid. Specialized in visual communications and exhibitions, she owns several psychology studios. Graduated in Fine Art from the University of Salamanca, Publicity and PR from the Universidad Complutense in Madrid (UCM) and Journalism from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. Master´s in Museum Curator and Exhibitions by the UCM. She has taught several courses on Design Master´s, Cultural Management, and collaborated in exhibitions for the Fundación Ortega y Gasset, EAE Business School in Madrid, Universidad Complutense de Madrid (UCM), European Institute of Design and Escuela de Arte nº 10.
She is a founding member of DIMAD and editor for the Central de Diseño project.
Manuel Estrada Pérez
Designer. As a founding member of DIMAD, he has formerly undertaken the role of chairperson of both the Association and Foundation of DIMAD. He is currently part of the Advisory Board of the Foundation and chief executive of the Ibero-American Design Biennial (BID).
Specialized in graphic design, he is renowned for his contribution to corporate and editorial design. His studio has been the second to be awarded the AENOR Certificate of Quality ( ISO standard 9001) and Environment ( ISO standard 14000).
His most prominent works have been, among others, for the Premios Cervantes, Alianza Editorial, Fundación Repsol and several covers for books published by EL PAÍS newspaper.
Among the awards he has received throughout his career, we might mention the Laus, AEPD, the Art Directors Club of Europe and the Good Design Award Chicago 2014.
He is also a member of the Consejo de Enseñanzas Artísticas in Spain.
Pedro Feduchi Canosa
Architecture PhD from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM) and lecturer at the same institution. He combines his activity as a teacher with his professional one, which he carries from his studio, where he develops architecture and design projects.
In 1987 he received a grant from the History, Archeology and Fine Art Academy in Rome, where he was established for the duration of the course. From 1990 to the present day he has worked as an Associate Professor at the Escuela de Arquitectura de Madrid (ETSAM), specializing in the Projects subject and, since 2010, in the subject of Furniture Design for the Advanced Architectural Projects Master´s – Proyectos Arquitectónicos Avanzados -(MPAA).
In his studio, home and monument restauration, architectural, and urban space design projects are carried out. He has curated exhibitions and has done displays for many important museums and cultural institutions. He also has a wide experience as an interior and furniture designer.
Soledad Hernández de la Rosa
Graphic Designer trained in Fine Art, Psychology and Philosophy. She actively takes part in painting workshops that take place at the Círculo de Bellas Artes with Isidoro Valcarcel Medina -Premio Nacional de Artes Plásticas 2007-(National Visual Arts Award), Francesc Torres and Concha Jerez. She collaborates in the production of La Cabeza del Dragón (The Dragon´s Head) exhibition by Francesc Torres, (at the Museo Nacional de Arte Reina Sofía).
In 1986, she established her own design studio: Publyco, specialized in editorial design, corporate image and visual identity programs.
She has been a member of the Board of Directors at AEPD since 2005 and was President from 2006 to 2009.
She has done several design lectures, taken part on a jury on several occasions and collaborated with public and private entities in the management of contests and venues aimed at designers.

Isabel León García
Arquitect from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid, graduated in 1983.
Since 1984, she has worked in Madrid as an architect and urban planner, managing her professional studio that later became the company Y.LEÓN, ARQUITECTURA Y URBANISMO, S.L.
She has received many awards in the field of architecture and urban planning throughout her career. The social conception of Architecture is present in in all her projects, conceived with a comprehensive perspective, from the preliminary project design to the completion of the construction works.
She has fostered and coordinated several training courses for women architects on the subject of The Environment in different Architect Schools and the Escuela de Organización Industrial (EOI),

Delfina Morán Arnaldo
Graduated in Fine Arts and PhD in Design (2013) from the Universidad de Málaga. She is an Art and Design History teacher in the Product Design and Psychology of perception, and the Graphic and Multimedia Design Degrees for ESNE, School of Design, Innovation and Technology.
She has developed an extensive professional career as a multimedia designer since 2002, combined with her teaching activity and research in the field of design.
Jaime Moreno Medina
Jaime Moreno was born in Madrid, where he began his training in Architecture at the UPM (Politechnical University of Madrid), however, he soon decided to move to Switzerland to continue with his education at the Art Center College of Design, where he graduated in Industrial Design. After that, he further expanded his training by attending courses and lectures at Harvard and St. Louis Universities in the U.S. and the Instituto de Empresa and the IESE Business School in Spain.
He began his professional career as part of the Phillips design team in The Netherlands. After that experience, he founded Mormandi, an international Design consultant agency that innovates through strategic approximation by offering service and industrial design and digital experiences.
As CEO and Creative Director of Mormedi, he has contributed to the international dissemination of Spanish design by establishing contacts and delegations in Japan and South Korea.
His professional career has been awarded, among others, with the following acknowledgements: Premio Nacional de Diseño (2015), Re Dot Award (2015, 2013 y 2009), IF Design Award (2015, 2012 y 2011), Spezial Prize Korea Society of Design Science (2014), Big Award (2012), German Design Award (2012), Good Design Award (2012 y 2011), Idea Award (2012), etc.
He has taken part in many national and international juries, lectures and workshops.
María del Carmen Valdecantos Montes
Specialized consultant on innovation projects, mainly focused on design, she acts as an advisor to companies and institutions when drafting and coordinating projects to improve the dissemination and management of design as well as arranging workshops, business meetings, curating exhibitions, carrying out research and editing publications.
She has been Chief Advisor for the Sociedad Estatal para el Desarrollo del Diseño y la Innovación, DDI, and President of the Federación Española de Entidades de Promoción del Diseño.
Madrid City Hall, represented by Luis Cueto Álvarez de Sotomayor
Madrid City Hall agreed in its plenary session on September 28th , to be part of DIMAD as an Institutional Sponsor.
This partnership was expanded when a collaboration protocol was agreed upon on September 28th 2012, this included the Asociación de Diseñadores de Madrid. The aim of this protocol is to further expand the promotion, dissemination and development of design in all its forms, for it is considered to provide an economic and cultural value of strategic relevance for Madrid by contributing to its international outreach.
Central de Diseño is the core manifestation of this collaboration between DIMAD and Madrid City Hall, which manages the Foundatio in agreement with Madrid Destino.
Luis Cueto Álvarez de Sotomayor, the Sponsorship representative, has a Law Degree from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and has been a civil administrator since 1987.
He has been the GGeneral Manager of EOI, Escuela de Negocios,,and has undertaken positions of responsibility for the Ministerios de Trabajo, Justicia, Asuntos Exteriores, Industria, Turismo y Comercio y Ciencia e Innovación (Departments of Employment, Justice, Foreign Affairs, Industry, Trade, Science and Innovation).

Escuela Superior de Diseño de Madrid , represented by Marina Arespacochaga Maroto
La Escuela Superior de Diseño de Madrid, is part of the Dirección General de Universidades e Investigación de la Comunidad de Madrid, It is a public centre that offers graduate, post graduate and Master´s Degrees in graphic Design, Interior Design, Fashion Design and Product design in the Comunidad de Madrid.
As a state-run Institution, it understands design as a service to society aimed to improve living standards and equality among people, and as a key factor for innovation and humanization of technologies, and cultural and economic exchange.
ESD´s main objective is to research and answer the social necessities by training design professionals who are able to research, propose and improve products and services by facing the multiple problems that they may encounter (scientific, humanistic, technological and artistic), with the ability to anticipate trends, analyse situation and emerging social needs by providing innovative solutions.
Marina Arespacochaga, is the Chief of the ESD. Art and Design Professor, illustrator, painter, and graphic designer. A Graduate in Fine Art from the Universidad Complutense and in Geography and History from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. She is presently researching colour didactics in design teaching.
